Digital wedding photography - the myths

Many people think that digital wedding photography makes the job easier for the photographer.  One commonly held belief is that there will be no unusable images because the wedding photographer can check every image they take on the back to the camera and if it isn't to the required standard, the image can be deleted and taken again.  Whilst digital wedding photographers do make regular checks throughout the wedding day, this is more to do with making sure that the exposure is correct because lighting conditions during a wedding day vary widely.  It is impossible to check every image on the back of the camera when a photographer is working under pressure.  If your photographer stopped to check each image, he or she would miss so many of the beautiful moments which will happen during your wedding day.  Another myth is that with the advent of digital cameras, wedding photography is much easier.  This is definitely not the case and we will spend many hours after your wedding working on your photographs, archiving them, editing, colour balancing, cropping, retouching, converting to black and white or sepia, applying filters, making a slideshow disc, printing a preview book and uploading your images to the internet.  So whilst digital wedding photography allows for more imagination and more images, it certainly means a lot more work for your wedding photographer.
